VISION FOR DICKSON COUNTY

Ray Ledger Jr. is committed to building a better future for Dickson County. Coming from a family with a strong legacy of public service, Ray's vision focuses on creating more living wage jobs, improving schools, and prioritizing public safety by implementing effective gun control measures. With nearly a decade of government experience, Ray is dedicated to finding solutions, navigating bureaucratic hurdles, and delivering tangible results for the community.
PRIORITIES
1. Ensuring Safe, Responsible Placement of Halfway Houses.

Ray’s top priority as mayor is protecting families and neighborhoods by establishing clear, responsible standards for halfway houses and recovery facilities in Dickson County. Ray believes in second chances and supporting those in recovery, but he also believes that every facility must operate with accountability, transparency, and respect for the surrounding community. He will work to create zoning guidelines that prevent halfway houses from being placed near schools, daycares, or vulnerable neighborhoods, require proper licensing and oversight, and ensure facilities contribute positively to public safety. Ray is committed to building a balanced approach, one that helps people rebuild their lives while keeping Dickson County’s families, children, and neighborhoods safe and protected.
2. Freezing Property Taxes for Veterans and Senior Citizens.

Ray believes the people who built this county, our senior citizens and our veterans deserve stability, respect, and protection from rising living costs. As mayor, he will work to freeze property taxes for veterans and senior citizens so they can stay in their homes without being pushed out by increased assessments or unexpected tax burdens. Ray knows many seniors live on fixed incomes, and many veterans carry the lifelong impacts of their service. This tax freeze will ensure they are honored, supported, and able to enjoy the quality of life they worked so hard to build. Ray’s commitment is simple: protect those who protected us, and ensure every senior in Dickson County can age with dignity and financial peace of mind.
3. Launching a Countywide Faith-Based Initiative to Support Families.

Ray believes the churches and faith communities of Dickson County are some of our greatest strengths. For decades, they have quietly met needs, supported families in crisis, and helped neighbors through difficult times. As mayor, Ray will launch a countywide Faith-Based Initiative that brings churches, nonprofits, and community organizations together to better coordinate resources and respond to local needs. This initiative will strengthen partnerships between county government and the faith community, improve support for children and families, and ensure struggling residents don’t slip through the cracks. Ray’s approach is simple: empower the people and organizations already doing incredible work, and build a stronger, more connected network of care for every family in Dickson County.
4. Strengthening Infrastructure to Support Smart, Sustainable Growth.

Ray understands that Dickson County is growing fast, and our infrastructure must grow with it. As mayor, he will prioritize improving and expanding roads, utilities, emergency services, and long-term county planning to keep pace with development. Ray believes in growth that benefits the people who already live here, not growth that overwhelms them. That means better traffic planning, upgraded rural roadways, modernized county systems, and smarter coordination between developers and local government. Ray’s goal is simple: build an infrastructure foundation strong enough to support families, businesses, and future generations while preserving the quality of life that makes Dickson County home.
Affordable housing is a key priority for Ray, and he is committed to implementing initiatives that address housing accessibility and affordability for all residents.
